The #UDLchat
What You Have Always Wanted To Know
Have you ever been part of something that makes you feel like a family member? According to participants, the #UDLchat does just that. When five educational leaders joined together they created a vision, and from the vision the #UDLchat was born. The following are the five visionaries of the chat.
Kit Hard @kithard
Ron B. Rogers @ronbrogers
Elizabeth L. Stein @elizabethlstein
Mindy Johnson @min_d_j
CAST @CAST_UDL
Katie Novak @katieNovakudl
It's hard to believe that the first #UDLchat took place nearly 2 years ago on May 16, 2013. It became clear when Jerry Blumengarten @cybraryman1 wanted the #UDLchat schedule and information for his blog that everything was official. A big thank you to Jerry for all he does for the field of education. There were a lot of reasons to start the chat however no-one could have predicted the impact it would eventually have on educators.
"The power of the chats can be accredited to the incredible participants."
The #UDLchat participants come from every walk of education. Each chat is engaging, exciting, and leaving participants with the motivation to keep tackling the UDL Guidelines to assure inclusive classrooms. Here is a direct link to the UDL Guidelines at the National Center on UDL Website (http://www.udlcenter.org/aboutudl/udlguidelines)
Thanks to Michael Roush @mdroush for the instruction on how to archive tweets using Storify. Here is the first archive of the #UDLchat. (https://storify.com/impala1/udl-chat). All the archives can be found at (https://storify.com/impala1). The Storify data shows 2095 people have read the archives since we started the #UDLchat and the number keeps rising exponentially every time someone uses one of the archives in a training, twitter or blog mention. Again thank you for your participation.
The #UDLchat has been extremely fortunate to have such incredible people joining the chat and how much everyone brings to the conversation. The following have joined us consistently:

There have been others too. Be sure to check out the archives for more great participants that may not be listed here and other famous educational leaders. Each session seems to bring on board new participants.
There were also two co-sessions hosted with #livedchat with Bill Martin @bill_m_4 and Ryan Horne @ryanhorn0076. These guys took #livedchat on a couple field trips to join the #UDLchat. It was a lot of fun and very educational for both groups.
Most #UDLchat participants would say,
"It's the best 60 minutes of learning in 30 minutes".
Be sure to join the #UDLchat every 1st and 3rd Wednesday evening from 9:00pm to 9:30pm Eastern Time.
